The cottage is superb in all respects, excellent location, with great facilities, and very comfortable. The outside private terrace provides stunning views of the harbour and beyond. The Blue Peter pub nearby offers good food and hospitality. A parking space, only a short walk, away is a bonus. The owner was very welcoming and provided excellent information about the cottage and area. A place to return to. Recommmended most highly.
We stayed at Willy Wilcox for a week in December 2019 and were devastated that we have to leave. Everything was just perfect. Thank you Amanda for communicating everything so perfectly. It meant that we were able to have a REAL holiday from the word go. Easy to find, friendly pubs and the most amazing part of the coast path right on your doorstep. The walk to Polruan and ferry to Fowey were the highlight of the trip. A must, weather permitting. Would give a lot more than 5 stars if I could.
Enjoyed our 8th stay at Willy Wilcock cottage. Loved the improvements and the thoughtfulness of Amanda.
I’ve wanted to stay in Willy Wilcox Cottage for years, and now I have, I can say that it didn’t disappoint. This cottage is attractively laid out, comfortable and well equipped. It must have the best position and view in the whole of this gorgeous fishing village too.
On arrival at the cottage my family and I were welcomed with a delicious cream tea and Prosecco! As it was our Golden Wedding anniversary the lovely owners also left us a card and present. Thank you so much Amanda and John.
I was also impressed with the prompt and caring way the owners responded to any questions and needs we had during our stay.
In any kind of weather this cottage is a joy. We watched a storm from the windows whilst playing daft games in the spacious but cosy living room. We awoke to glorious views from every bedroom, rain or shine. We walked the beautiful cliff paths and on the little beach; some of us found and swam in the hidden coastal swimming pool; we enjoyed great food and live music in the quaint, characterful pubs nearby; we explored the local shops and art exhibitions; we took loads of photos and were never bored! At the cottage we relaxed on its upper terrace whilst enjoying a coffee or a glass of wine. All together a great place to stay!
Amanda is a great host, she responded immediately whenever we had a question about the house. The cottage is placed at the harbour of the little village with amazing views to the sea. The house itself was very clean, everything was in a very good condition and the kitchen was perfectly equipped, the cutlery, pots and pans, all the tools are high quality. We were welcomed by Cornish cream tea and flowers and there are all the little details in the house which are making your stay there so comfortable. Thank you very much Amanda and John.
Truly great location and house
We had such a lovely stay in Polperro. The house was gorgeous, and the location was amazing!! If you’re looking for a house right on the beach, this is the one for you!
Best spot in Polperro. Our second stay in the last few years. 20 yards from the Blue Peter pub and private terrace. Can’t fault it really.
Absolutely loved the willy Wilcox cottage. We have been visiting Polperro for many years and stayed in various cottages, but this was by far our favourite. The location is the best in Polperro with the harbour and beach both on the doorstep, access to the costal paths and the pub next door! When we arrived, the cottage was very clean and we were welcomed with cream tea. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need for the week, giving us the choice of cooking or eating out (however with the Blue Peter just a few steps away we did find ourselves enjoying the food there most days!) The house is well kept with lots of lovely touches such as toys for the children. The views from all the rooms are fantastic, especially the large window in the living room and the beach terrace. Amanda was a wonderful host and we would love to return to the Willy Wilcox again.

We stayed in May 2019 and were lucky enough to have fantastic weather. Willy Wilcox is the best house we’ve rented in Cornwall or Devon and we’ve rented loads before. The house itself is steeped in Polperro history and iconic in so many photos of this famous Cornish harbour. Once inside though, everything is pristine and tastefully modernised throughout so as to be extremely comfortable but keeping all of its historic charm. The bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas, all spotless. The hot water was plentiful for baths and the showers were electric so never run out of hot water. Everything in the kitchen right down to the utensils and cutlery appeared to be brand new – everything we needed. Then out through the master bedroom up the short path to the private terrace set into the cliff above the house. The best views in the village bar none. Amazing. Other things to note were the fast WIFI, the very easy arrival process and key access and of course, the very welcome cream tea with scones, jam and clotted cream – a lovely detail. The location of the house is just perfect. Out the door and down the steps and you are on the beach. Or turn left and within yards you are amongst the pubs and restaurants of Polperro. All in all, highly recommended.
